This is a wonderful story, however, it’s just good luck that the bird survived. It’s actually illegal to hold a native bird captive like this. The correct thing to do is to find the nearest wildlife rehabilitation center and take the bird to them. It’s not good that this bird has been indoors for a year and is tame. I hope that soon Ed will put the bird outside, whether she wants to go or not, to live a free and wild life. Meanwhile I suggest he contact a wildlife center for advice!

So sweet the dog knew what it was like to be rescued, so he passed it on.
